💸 Revealed: Mega deal narrowly failed. Bayern had put together a 250 million euro package for Haaland!
It is an obvious secret that Bayern worked hard to sign Erling Haaland last summer. In the end, however, the Norwegian opted for a move to Manchester City. Now new details have emerged about the collapsed Bayern deal. According to these, Bayern were prepared to spend more than 200 million euros on Haaland.
Even though the Bayern bosses have publicly emphasised time and again that Erling Haaland is an interesting player but not an issue at Säbener Straße, they have been working (secretly) in the background on signing the top goal scorer.
According to reports, there have been several talks between the club and the player. The Munich club saw the attacker as the ideal successor to Robert Lewandowski. As the german „kicker“ reports, those responsible in Munich were prepared to dig deep into their pockets for Haaland.

According to information from „kicker“, Bayern were prepared to break their salary cap for Erling Haaland last year and pay him around 35 million euros gross per year. This would have made him the absolute top earner at the Isar right away. According to rumours, Robert Lewandowski was the top earner at FCB at the time with almost 25 million euros. In addition, they would have had to pay the fixed transfer fee of 75 million euros. With a 5-year contract, Haaland would have cost Bayern a total of almost 250 million euros.
In the end, however, Manchester City topped Bayern’s offer and FCB could no longer keep up financially. Haaland ultimately decided to move to the English champions.
