Bayern in crisis? Salihamidzic: „Nagelsmann knows exactly what needs to be done“
FC Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is convinced that Julian Nagelsmann will turn things around after the international break.
In an interview with BILD am Sonntag, the Bosnian has also come forward in support of the German coach: „Julian [Nagelsmann] knows that he has the full support of FC Bayern, that doesn’t have to be said again and again,“ said Salihamidzic
The 45-year-old also revealed that there have been many conversations between him and Nagelsmann in the past few days: „We spoke to Julian about all aspects of our start to the season, including the positive ones, because there wasn’t only the defeat in Augsburg, but we scored many goals at the beginning and had two clean sheets in the Champions League.”
Nagelsmann himself confirmed after the Augsburg defeat that he would critically question everything during the international break and that some things would have to change. According to Salihamidzic, the Bayern coach seems to have come a long way in his analysis: „Julian is evident. He and his coaching staff know exactly what needs to be done.”
After seven matchdays in the Bundesliga, Bayern are only in 5th place and have taken three points from the last four games. The gap to leaders Union Berlin is five points.
After the international break, Bayern Munich will welcome Bayer Leverkusen (September 30) at their home, Allianz Arena. After the CL duel against Viktoria Pilzen (4.10), the classic clash against Borussia Dortmund (8.10) at Signal Iduna Park will come.
