Alexander Nübel is currently playing well at AS Monaco. Due to his good performances, AS Monaco are considering a permanent transfer of the German.
In the summer of 2020, Alexander Nübel moved to Bayern Munich on a free transfer. During his time in Munich, Nübel wasn’t able to receive a pleasant amount of playing time as captain Manuel Neuer was the undisputed number 1. Due to a lack of playing time, FC Bayern loaned Nübel to AS Monaco after just one season, where he has developed quite well.
According to „L’Equipe“ Monaco are satisfied with the development of the 25-year-old and are planning a long-term transfer of the goalkeeper. In addition, Nübel most likely has no intention of returning to Bayern as long as Neuer is between the posts.
In an interview with „kicker“ magazine, Nübel has now commented on his future. „There is no doubt that I won’t be back if Manu [Neuer] is still there. I won’t do that, I can rule out that I’ll sit on the bench again at Bayern,“ said Nübel. As of now, his loan ends at the end of the season.
Since his move to Ligue 1, Nübel has become one of the best goalkeepers in the league. Nübel has registered the most saves (36) in the current Ligue1 season.
