FC Barcelona are working intensively to sign Robert Lewandowski. The Catalans have already made an offer for the Pole but haven’t received a response from Bayern Munich yet. Will Barcelona’s Pablo Gavi or Frenkie de Jong become part of the deal?

In the past, there have been rumors that Gavi used to be a serious issue in Munich. According to Barca’s first tier insider Roger Tello from Mundo Deportivo, Bayern Munich are being quite attentive to Gavi and would be willing to trigger his 50 million euro release clause. Since Lewandowski is also part of the deal, Barcelona are thinking to include the Polish striker in a swap deal, in order to make the deal run easily.

Gavi’s contract expires in 2023, and apparently, there have been no talks between Barcelona and the player to extend the contract. Provided that the 17 years old won’t extend his contract, Barcelona will probably include him in a swap deal. Initially, the club considered a swap deal between Memphis Depay and Lewandowski, but provided Gavi does not extend his contract, it is not ruled out that Barcelona could include him in the swap deal. Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.

But, on the other hand, Mundo Deportivo also claims that Bayern Munich are not only interested in Gavi, but they’re also interested in Frenkie de Jong. De Jong is rumored to leave too and Manchester United were also said to be involved to sign the Dutch midfielder. Bayern could consider adding de Jong in a swap deal for Lewandowski, for Barcelona, if they were to consider, it would make it easier for the Lewandowski deal to go through

There is no surprise regarding the De Jong rumors, though. Bayern Munich have intensively observed the player since he was at Ajax Amsterdam and even after going to Barcelona. Last year and in the winter, there were rumors that Bayern are interesting in bringing de Jong in Munich. His technical and physical ability make him very attractive to Bayern who are trying to strengthen the midfield.
