Bayern Munich have changed a lot of managers over the past decade and they’ve been criticized a lot for the lack of stability in the managerial position. The fans demand a coach who can stay at the club for a long time.
Current Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp has now revealed that the Bavarians wanted to lure him a couple of times in the past. The German manager coached Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund and now is coaching the English club.
As a German-speaking manager, who, at the same time is not only a great man-manager but also a good tactician, he was definitely quite a great option for Bayern. The club has tried changing a lot of managers since 2016: Carlo Ancelotti, Willy Sagnol, Jupp Heynckes, Niko Kovac, Hansi Flick, and now recently Julian Nagelsmann. Two of them ended up being sacked.
“I could have gone to Bayern a few times, I could have won more titles in my life, pretty sure I would say – a good chance at least“, said Klopp ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup final (via liverpoolecho) „I didn’t do it. I had a contract here and I never did it. That’s completely fine.“
“The world is not full of winners, the world is full of triers hopefully. And I try and sometimes I win with some other people together“
According to Klopp, Bayern tried to lure him a few times after he joined Liverpool, but decided to stay there. The English Telegraph claims that Bayern are understood to have made a few enquires about Klopp over the past 6 years every time they changed managers, including one time in 2019 before the German signed a contract extension.
