Ginter denies Bayern agreement: „I do not know where the rumors come from“
Matthias Ginter has been heavily linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich in the summer. The club are not convinced of the player’s qualities but should be the main alternative if there are no more suitable candidates.
The central defender has now denied the long-going rumors that have reported of an agreement with Bayern Munich. „I don’t know where the rumors come from“, implying that there is no agreement yet with any club, not only Bayern.
Ginter told ‚RND.de‘ that „there is no agreement with any club yet. I haven’t made any decision about my future as of now“
Ginter isn’t assuming that a very quick decision will be made either, and rather expects that it „will take a few more weeks“ before he agrees on a contract with a new employer. The central defender has not yet decided whether he should continue in Germany or abroad: „There are various options and I’m curious myself which one it will be in the end“
It seems at least clear that Gladbach’s defender would like to go to Munich in principle, but will not wait forever for Bayern. According to „SPORT1“ information, not everyone in the club is convinced that Ginter can be a great reinforcement for the defense.
The concerns are justified, especially since the defender is not playing his best season and has little development potential. Ginter’s big trump card is undoubtedly that he doesn’t cost a fee.
But in the end, Bayern are not sure whether they should spend additional money on another suitor, since the other alternatives, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger, failed to reach an agreement with Bayern due to financial reasons, despite being free agents.
