Hansi Flick and his Bayern Munich side host Stuttgart on Saturday in the Bundesliga as they look to maintain their four-point gap over RB Leipzig at the top of the table who play before the Bavarians on Friday night.

For the visitors, the chance to move up to seventh in the table presents itself should they surprise the reigning champs on their home deck.

Bayern is coming into the clash with Stuttgart in good form, having secured their progression to the Champions League quarter-finals after disposing of Lazio 2-1 midweek. Goals from Robert Lewandowski and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting enough to secure the win with Marco Parolo scoring a consolation goal late on.

Team news

Bayern Munich

After being rested for the clash with Lazio midweek, it is expected that Kingsley Coman, Alphonso Davies, and Manuel Neuer all should return to the starting side.

However, Flick will be without Corentin Tolisso, Tanguy Nianzou, and Douglas Costa who are all out long term.

Stuttgart

For Pellegrino Matarazzo, he will be without several players including Lilian Egloff, Clinton Mola, Orel Mangala, and Hamadi Al Ghaddioui.

After recovering from a thigh injury, Nicolas Gonzalez may have to wait to return after the upcoming international break as Stuttgart could take a conservative approach while Tanguy Coulibaly could be in line for a start on Saturday.

Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:

ย Neuer; Pavard, Boateng, Alaba, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Gnabry, Muller, Coman; Lewandowski

Prediction

Stuttgart still has plenty to play for as they are just six points behind Borussia Dortmund in fifth and they can certainly give Bayern some trouble going forward with both Kalajdzic and Wamangituka in supreme form heading into this one.

What will give Pellegrino Matarazzo hope is that Bayern has not kept a clean sheet in their last nine Bundesliga games at the Allianz so you could easily foresee Stuttgart finding a way past Manuel Neuer.

Having said that, Bayern has a lot to play for and I fully expect them to come away with yet another win as they look to retain their Bundesliga title.

Scoreline: Bayern Munich 2-1 Stuttgart
