According to Sport Bild, Hansi Flick has a clear favourite when it comes to his choice to start at left-wing. That is Kingsley Coman.
However, it is the other side when things get a little more complex. Who is going to be deployed on the right-wing? Flick has two world-class options in Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry both vying for one spot and as a manager, that is a great problem to have.
In 24 appearances this campaign, Coman has nine assists along with three goals and it is clear to see that Flick sees Coman as an absolute starter when he is fit. All players have been going full throttle in training and it appears that the competition for places internally is heating up.
Three wingers fighting for two spots
Now the report could just be looking for media clicks but the fact is three wingers for two spots isn’t going to work so someone is going to miss out. Still, with that being said, Hansi Flick has done a great job so far to keep his three wingers happy.
Sane at one point was said to be disappointed being behind Gnabry and Coman but injuries to the pair have opened the door and he took his chance with both hands so there was no real threat for a starting position. However now with all three fit, the situation could come to ahead again, hopefully for Bayern, without too much conflict.
Bayern plays host to fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in Der Klassiker and one of Sane or Gnabry will miss out. Competition can only be a good thing for Bayern Munich as long as the players remain happy.
Either way, having three world-class wingers to choose from is a problem that many managers would like to have. So who should get the nod to partner Coman on Saturday, Sane or Gnabry?
