It appeared that Bayern Munich defender David Alaba had his future sorted weeks ago, however, according to various reports, the Austrian is still weighing up his options.
There are several reasons as to why Alaba is still undecided when it comes to his future. First, it is clear that Alaba wants a move with a big salary and that he prefers a move to Spain but with both Real Madrid and Barcelona not in the best shape financially, a move could be tough, so teams in England and France could very well be in play now.

The other thing that could hinder Alaba’s move is that the Austrian wants to permanently play in midfield, not defense. So any team harboring thoughts about signing him will have to deploy him as a midfielder.
Sport Bild released a report on Alaba’s future and stated that only one thing is for sure, Alaba is going to leave Bayern Munich after the season concludes.
Noted in the report by Sporting Bild is that Pini Zahavi, Alaba’s agent stated that his client has not signed any deal as of yet, dispelling numerous reports he had already signed with Real Madrid.
“All the top clubs in Europe are after David, but he’s the one who has to make the final decision,” Zahavi said.
Alaba has no shortage of suitors vying for his services with Real Madrid, Liverpool, Barcelona, both Manchester clubs, and PSG all said to have a concrete interest in the Alaba.
Chelsea out of the race, PSG one of the favourites
One team missing from the list of teams is Chelsea and this is because they are reportedly not willing to meet the huge agent fees and the salary that Alaba is currently demanding.
As it stands, there are said to be three teams that are in the lead to secure Alaba’s signature in Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG. The French outfit is perhaps the best equipped to snag Alaba as they have the financial capabilities to give Alaba the wages he is demanding.
🗣 Jens Lehmann (ex-Arsenal) “It saddens me that David Alaba is leaving Bayern Munich. I don’t want to feed rumors, but he would be great in Spain. Barcelona or Real Madrid are fantastic.” [marca]

Alaba has stated his preferred options are in Spain as they are his ultimate dream moves, but PSG appears to be a serious contender simply because money is not an issue.
There is still much to play out in this saga and the answer as to where Alaba ends up? Well, your guess is as good as mine.
