The news comes at a bad time for Hansi Flick, who is already missing several key names from his starting XI.
With the likes of Serge Gnabry, Douglas Costa, Tanguy Nianzou, Leon Goretzka, and Javi Martinez all doubtful for the upcoming games, and key players like Thomas Muller and Benjamin Pavard ruled out due to coronavirus, Flick has his work cut out for him.
Some good news: Goretzka and Martinez to return?
According to a report from FCBayern.com, both Goretzka and Martinez took part in light training today.
A statement from the club read: “Leon Goretzka, and Javi Martínez had already completed an individual unit the day before and are continuing their advanced program. In addition to a few sprints and coordination exercises, the duo also worked intensively with the ball on Wednesday morning.
“The two midfielders were still behind in training after a corona infection, while Goretzka was also plagued by muscular problems according to his coach Hansi Flick.”
With a tough Champions League fixture next week, Flick will be hoping Tolisso’s injury isn’t as bad as initially reported.
