The Bayern Munich defender’s ex-girlfriend was found dead at her Berlin apartment on Tuesday night.

Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has left his club at the Club World Cup in Qatar after the death of his ex-girlfriend boss Hansi Flick has revealed.

Boateng’s ex-girlfriend, Kasia Lenhardt was found dead in her apartment just seven days after the pair split up and announced it on social media, she was 25. Boateng will now miss the final of the Club World Cup on Thursday.

Hansi Flick gave his comments on the situation.

Flick said on Wednesday:

“Jerome came to my room and asked if he could go home. He will not be available to us until further notice.”

Lenhardt was a contestant on Germany’s Next Top Model and she and Boateng had been dating for over a year. In her final post on her Instagram, she confirmed the split with Boateng and said “Now is where you draw the line. Enough.”

The Berlin released a statement to Bild saying they believed Lenhardt’s death to be suicide.

Yesterday at around 8:30pm there was a police operation in Charlottenburg on suspicion of suicide,” Berlin police said. “There are no indications of third-party negligence.”

The pair’s rocky relationship

Boateng and Lenhardt dated for over a year and their breakup was very messy and was made public. Lenhardt had accused the Bayern defender of cheating and lying to her. On the second of February, Boateng confirmed the split on his Instagram, however that post has since been taken down.

It remains unclear when Boateng is going to be available for Hansi Flick’s side.
