Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has described Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as the Lionel Messi of Africa. The 28-year-old has been in blistering form for Jurgen Klopp’s since switching to Anfield from AS Roma in 2017.

His fine performances have won him a number of accolades, including the PFA Player of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season awards.

He also won the Premier League Golden Boot during the 201-18 and 2018-19 campaigns. Salah has also won the African Player of the Year award in 2017 and 2018 following his incredible form for Liverpool and Egypt.

And Rummenigge believes Salah’s performances are on par with Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“In my opinion, Salah is the Messi of Africa and of course he got the skills to play in the best teams in the world,” Rumminegge told ON Time Sports (h/t Kingfut).

“What he [Salah] has achieved can be compared to what Messi and Ronaldo did with Barcelona and Real Madrid.”

Salah also played a key role in helping Liverpool win the Champions League and the Premier League – a trophy that has eluded the club for 30 years.

“Would be an honor to work with Salah”

The Bayern CEO added that the Bundesliga giants do not plan on signing the Egyptian right now, but he would be someone they would consider working with in the future.

He added: “At the moment we don’t plan on signing Salah, but certainly it would be an honour to have him.”

Liverpool aren’t having a great season so far, but Salah is the Premier League’s top scorer with 15 goals until now.
