Bayern and Dortmund players dominate VDV Team of the 2019/20 Season

The accolades just keep rolling in for Bayern Munich this season. Robert Lewandowski, Alphonso Davies, and Hansi Flick were honoured by the players’ union Vereinigung der Vertragsfußballspieler (VDV) last week.

The Best FIFA Men’s Player Lewandowski was awarded the ‘Silver Shoe’ as best player of the 2019/20 season, and treble coach Hansi Flick received the ‘Silver Bench’ for best head coach. Alphonso Davies was also honoured with the ‘Silver Arrow’, the award for the best newcomer of last season.

And now, five Bayern players have been named in the VDV Team of the Season 19/20. Star striker Lewandowski leads the team with 87.6 percent of the votes, with Davies (80.4 percent), Joshua Kimmich (73.2 percent), David Alaba (70.6 percent), and Manuel Neuer (42.3 percent) all joining him.

Borussia Dortmund have three players on the list – Achraf Hakimi (61.3 percent), Jadon Sancho (61.3 percent), Mats Hummels (40.7 percent), and Erling Haaland (34.0 percent).

Former RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner (55.7 percent) and ex-Bayer Leverkusen winger Kai Havertz (68 percent) make up the rest of the XI.
