The last few days of the transfer window are fast approaching, and clubs are trying their best to either bring players in or get them out.
While there will most likely not be any players arriving in Bavaria, one name that could be on the way out is Douglas Costa. AC Milan is reportedly interested in bringing in the winger according to Tuttosport. Bayern is willing to cut his loan short to allow him to get more playing time.
According to Tuttosport, #ACMilan are considering signing #DouglasCosta in January as #BayernMunich are not going to make his move from #Juventus permanent. https://t.co/x7gd5uavuv #Juve #Milan #Transfers #SerieA #Calcio pic.twitter.com/S687lwkrM9

Three teams would be involved to complete a transfer with Costa returning to Bayern on a one-year deal on loan. He was meant to be the winger that Hansi Flick needed after the failure to sign Ivan Perisic from Italian side Inter Milan. Costa was widely expected to be a vital part of the first team, to be a rotational player, and come in when needed and perform. However, it has not panned out that way, with the Brazilian finding minutes hard to come by.
With Kingsley Coman, Leroy Sane, and Serge Gnabry all ahead of him in the pecking order and all in good form, Costa is well down the list in terms of players Flick wants to use. Add in Jamal Musiala to that as well and suddenly Costa is fighting a losing battle.
Because of the wealth of talent Flick has at his disposal out wide, Costa has essentially been playing in matches that have no significance in cup competitions. Due to injuries, Costa found himself playing three consecutive matches and found it hard to make any real impact in games which did not help his cause.
Because of the pandemic, Bayern might be well advised to keep Costa on their books, as having more players available will only benefit his side as the fixtures start to pile up.
