Bayern Munich duo Leon Goretzka and Javi Martinez have tested positive for coronavirus and will miss the weekend’s clash with Hoffenheim.
The pair are the third and fourth players to test positive after Serge Gnabry and Niklas Sule tested positive earlier in the season. However, Gnabry and Sule returned false positives, but the same cannot be said for Goretzka and Martinez.
Hansi Flick confirmed the news in his pre-match press conference and revealed that they will be ruled out until they test negative.

Goretzka took part in team training today, but picked up an injury after a tackle by Joshua Zirkzee, and would have most likely missed the game tomorrow.
Every player in the team will have to be tested again before the game because there is a possibility either Goretzka or Martinez could have passed the virus on to the others.
An official statement by Bayern read:
Leon Goretzka has tested positive for the coronavirus. The 25-year-old is fine, he is in quarantine at home. Has also been in quarantine at home for a few days, Javi Martinez. is also doing well. Neither player will be available for the Bundesliga match against 1899 Hoffenheim this weekend.
The Bundesliga leaders will also be without backup goalkeeper Alexander Nubel who injured his ankle in training on Thursday, and will “probably be out for three to four weeks” according to BILD.
Midfielder Corentin Tolisso remains sidelined for the Hoffenheim clash, as does youngster Tanguy Nianzou who is recovering from injury.
The news poses a fresh headache for Flick ahead of the game, and it is quite possible Marco Roca might be handed a start in the midfield.
Here’s hoping Goretzka and Martinez recover quickly and return to the pitch as soon as possible.
