David Alaba’s father has denied rumours that the defender has agreed a deal with Real Madrid.

It was reported last night by Marca that Alaba had come to an agreement with the Spanish giants. The report also stated that the 28-year-old had agreed a four-year deal.

However, according to Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg, Alaba’s father, George, told a number of media outlets that no deal had been signed with any club as of now.

He also added that there are other clubs interested in the player. Along with Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked to Alaba.

The report in Marca claimed that Alaba had passed his medical and signed a contract with Madrid. But media outlets everywhere are refuting the Spanish publication’s claims.

Sky reporter Max Bielefeld also confirmed the same, while Bild’s Christian Falk said that Liverpool are in the running to sign the Austrian.

It was reported last week that Liverpool reportedly decided not to pursue their interest in Alaba because they considered him to be “too small and too old”.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have now decided that Alaba, who turns 29 in June, does not fit the profile of a long-term replacement. They also considered him too small and not strong enough in the air to fit their central defensive requirements.

Nevertheless, reports have constantly maintained that Alaba will be leaving Bavaria when his contract expires this summer.
