Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in Real Madrid defender Eder Militao as a replacement for David Alaba.

Juventus, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Borussia Dortmund have already made preliminary approaches for the Brazilian. And now, according to Goal, Bayern have joined the race for the 22-year-old.

Militao joined Madrid from Porto in 2019, and has only made three appearances in all competitions this season.

The report claims that no official contact has been made yet, but the Brazilian could be on his way out if Alaba joins and Sergio Ramos agrees to a new contract.

Militao is keen to become a regular in Zinedine Zidane’s squad, but also knows the importance of playing minutes to guarantee his place in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming Copa America.

Brazil coach Tite chose not to pick the defender for the World Cup qualifier owing to his lack of game time at Madrid, and Milito will want to rectify his situation soon.

Hansi Flick’s side have also been linked to RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano in recent weeks. The 22-year-old has an exit-clause next summer and could leave die Roten Bullen for €42 million.

Upamecano is a popular figure on the transfer market, and has been linked to Premier League giants Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

But will Bayern sign anyone?

The transfer links continue even while Flick has claimed that he is not looking to add players to his squad during the on-going winter transfer window.

However, Bayern’s defence has been extremely shaky of late, letting in 21 goals in 10 Bundesliga and five Champions League games.

The defending champions also found themselves knocked out of the DFB Cup to second-tier Holstein Kiel earlier this week.

With just two weeks to go until the January window shuts, Bayern might consider bringing in reinforcements if they are to successfully defend their Bundesliga and Champions League crowns.
