FC Bayern fans have named Robert Lewandowski as the Player of the Month for the month of December.

The Pole finished first on the list with 40 percent of fans voting for him. Manuel Neuer (19 percent), Thomas Muller (12 percent), Kingsley Coman (11 percent), and Jamal Musiala (7 percent) made up the rest of the top five.

December was an incredible month for Lewandowski. He was named FIFA’s Best Men’s Player of the Year, Bundesliga Player of the Month, and received the Player of the Year award at the Global Soccer Awards in Dubai.

He was instrumental in firing Bayern back to the top of the Bundesliga. Lewandowski also took his season tally to 17 goals with back-to-back braces on matchdays 12 and 13, equalling yet another Gerd Muller record set in the opening 13 matchdays of 1968/69 and 1976/77.

Lewandowski’s last-grasp winner against Bayer Leverkusen in December was his fifth of the month, making him the league’s top scorer.

“We always want more,” said Lewandowski after the win.

“From the start of next year, we want to carry on this way, moving from win to win.”

Along with Lewandowski, fans voted for Jamal Musiala’s goal against RB Leipzig as the December Goal of the Month. It was his goal that helped Bayern to a 3-3 draw in an all-important top-of-the-clash.

Musiala received 49 percent of the vote, with Fiete Arp in second place with 29 percent. Lewandowski’s winning goal in the 2-1 home win against VfL Wolfsburg garnered 12 percent of the vote, which placed him third on the list.
