Flick confirms Gnabry is back in training, but Coman and Choupo-Moting are out against Kiel

Hansi Flick has confirmed that Serge Gnabry is back in training and would be fit to face Holstein Kiel in the DFB Cup tomorrow.

However, both Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Kingsley Coman will miss out.

Gnabry suffered a bruised shin against Mainz 05, but returned to training at the start of this week.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Flick said: “As things stand today, Serge Gnabry will be able to play tomorrow. He completed training in full and I’m not expecting that to have a negative impact on him. He’s part of the plan.”

He also added that Choupo-Moting and Coman missed today’s training, and won’t be in the line-up to face Kiel.

Flick said: “Choupo-Moting has back problems, Kingsley Coman will also miss out. He’s feeling some discomfort in his muscles and we don’t want to risk anything.”

This minor setback comes at an inopportune time for the former PSG man who would’ve liked to get some game time if the manager chose to make rotations to his squad.
