Hansi Flick has confirmed that Bayern Munich will be without Kingsley Coman and Marc Roca for their Bundesliga clash against FSV Mainz 05.
Coman is still struggling with a muscle injury he picked up during the clash Bayer Leverkusen in December. Reports earlier in the week claimed that Bayern had returned to training, but the winger was missing in action.
He also missed today’s final training session, and Flick confirmed that the 24-year-old would miss the weekend’s game against Mainz.
He said, “Kingsley Coman is out. It’s still the injury from the Leverkusen game.”
However, he did say that Coman should be back for next week’s game against Gladbach. Flick added, “He is on the right track and should be available again for the game against Gladbach.”

Coman has been one of Bayern’s best players this season, and has five goals and nine assists so far across all competitions.
Flick also spoke about Leroy Sane’s performance over the last couple of games, and said the former Manchester City player is extremely “self-critical”.
He said, “He’s very self-critical about his performance. He’s done well in training. I think he’s on the right track. If he controls the ball, he has speed and his left foot is of enormous quality. We all support him.”
In addition to Coman, Roca and Tanguy Nianzou are also out of the weekend’s game. On Roca, Flick said, “Marc Roca has muscular problems and will not be there”.
Bayern will be looking to get the new year started with a win and extend their lead at the top of the table. Leverkusen are hot on their trails and are only a point behind the defending champions.
