Bayern Munich have scored 34 goals in their ten Bundesliga outings, but Hansi Flick wants more from his attackers, especially Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry.
Against RB Leipzig, Thomas Muller scored two to spare Die Roten blushes. However, it was an all-round performance by Kinsley Coman. The French winger was the creative force behind all three of Bayern’s goals.
Hansi Flick hailed Coman for his recent form, praising his work ethic, creativity, and goal-scoring threat. The manager has four wide options at his disposal, including Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, and Douglas Costa. He does not question their quality but wants everyone to follow Coman’s lead.
“We have four players on the outside who are of very good quality. At the moment, you just have to say that Kingsley Coman is the one who sets the tone, scores goals, exudes a goal threat, prepares goals, and has a good view of the area.
“He played a very good game. I would like everyone to have this level,” Flick said.
While Coman lays the groundwork for everyone to follow, Bayern are having issues integrating Leroy Sane at Allianz Arena. The former Schalke player arrived from Manchester City for 50 million Euros but has not lived up to the expectations.
Despite making 12 competitive appearances, injuries have curtailed his ability to give a good account of himself. He has struggled to stay on the pitch for more than an hour, averaging 47.25 minutes a game. Against RB Leipzig, he was brought off in the 64th-minute in favor of Serge Gnabry.
